Yorke Tells All

Like most other Radiohead fans, I've been eagerly devouring all the poorly-written, gramatically-incorrect spoutings of frontman Thom Yorke on Radiohead's personal blog, Dead Air Space. A typical post either consists of some nice photographs of the band rehearsing or performing live, or utterly incoherent ramblings from Mr. Yorke. Today, however, is an exception. A surprisingly eloquent Yorke wrote this post about one of the President's daughters making an appearance at one of their gigs in New York, and how the Secret Service had to push through the endless throngs of Radiohead fans (a majority of which probably hate President Bush) when the First Daughter decided to leave midway through the song "The Tourist".

How lame. I could understand leaving in the middle of, say, "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors" or "The Gloaming," but an OK Computer track? That's just bad form. She probably went to the concert in the mistaken belief that they'd play "Creep."

I still can't wait for Thom Yorke's solo album (apparently, Yorke's shying away from that term), which sees stateside release on July 11. Check out some sound bites from the album here.

Wow - another contrarian going through his Radiohead itunes library hoping to find a seemingly less obvious amazing song to try to root a baseless opinion--a follower of the most ubiquitous kind. Who cares if the First Daughter attended the show? - praise her for the taste she exposed. Thankfully, capitalism enabled Radiohead's Yankee fannies to cough up a mere 5 hundy to hear the music, which, yes, while political, I assumed the music listening experience would transcend US Weekly-like gossip. Tisk tisk on your convenient contradiction. She could have gone and seen Maroon 5 or some shite like that, or even worse, visit your little coffee shop gig and turn out as trite as you feigning a discovery of something "fresh." Whichever concert she would attend, albeit K.Fed's debut or Radiohead you would have slammed her - what's new about that? "Just 'cause you feel it, doesn't mean it's there " --[referring to your authenticity.]

Since I can tell the previous commenter is a person who does not read my blog regularly, I will reiterate for the newly oriented: The posts I make on DiMattiaFilms.com are meant to be humorous, and my political views, however few I actually relate to my readers, are mine and mine alone and are not put on the site in order to convert, or even ridicule, anyone who opposes them.

While I do admit that the First Daughter at Radiohead Gig story was a pretty easy target, I am merely repeating, with a pinch of paraphrase, what Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke wrote on his own blog, a blog that, if Ms. Balls was given the ability to post comments on it, would have quite a lot to say. Instead, she decided to pick on the small-fry bloggers who repeat said information to anyone who would be interested.

And while I am always grateful for any comments or criticism on my blog, I do not appreciate rude assumptions about my character. Faithful readers will note that I rarely bash the President or any of his relatives, and when I do, it is long after hundreds of other bloggers have already taken a crack at them.

So, in conclusion, thank you, Ms. Balls, for your interesting, and eloquent, comment. Just next time, please try and do a little further reading on my blog before you jump to your oh-so-convenient conclusions.
