Second Episode Now Available

I am officially on a roll. I just released the second episode of DiMattiaFilms Radio. It's a bit larger file this time, so dial-up users watch out. I wanted to boost the quality of the recording and the episode length is a little longer than the first episode. No interview this time, just me talking about the new films coming out this Friday, my Oscar picks, and "Devin DiMattia's Thorough Analysis of How Crappy His Day Was!" I also play some pretty cool music from Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim and Dirty Vegas!

The reason I wanted to make a second episode so soon was because I'm about to take off for Spring Break. I'll still try and make text posts, but I probably won't make any new audioposts for another week. Well, hope everyone has a great weekend! Ciao!

Oh, and I do use a little bit of profanity in my new episode...so...small children should sit further away from the computer than adults...and large children, I guess.

P.S. I kinda skipped my pick for Best Supporting Actress and went on to my pick for Best Director. Anyway, my pick for the Supporting Actress Oscar was Virginia Madsen for "Sideways."

E-Mail Now Works!

Yes, this is awesome! My e-mail address, devin@dimattiafilms.com now works! Please send all website-related questions and comments to that e-mail address. I'll change all my e-mail links on the site to direct you to my new address. DON'T FORGET! I am accepting all original music compositions for broadcast as well as people who would like to be interviewed for my show!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'll see you later!

DiMattiaFilms Radio is on the air!

I am very pleased to present the very first episode of DiMattiaFilms Radio! It's amazing how this site keeps evolving. It started as a text blog with some cool shirts, now we're on the air! Click here to download the first episode. I play some favorite songs of mine, as well as conduct an interview with Mr. Nathan Sloan, a friend of mine and fellow filmmaker, creator of WilmingSloan. As you'll see, it's in two parts because we got into some problems halfway through and had to stop. Nathan plays a pretty mean acoustic guitar, let me tell you.

I am currently accepting original music for broadcast on my show. Please DON'T send me any mp3 files. My inbox can't take it. Instead, e-mail me a link to where I can download the song(s).

If you would like to be interviewed on DiMattiaFilms Radio, e-mail me and we can set up a good time to chat.

I think that's it. Hope you enjoy the broadcast! Later!

My First Audio Entry!

Listen in and you could get a free song on iTunes!

Download iTunes here.

I'm looking into this new technology called podcasting for future audioposts, but if it involves spending money, I think I'll stick with simple ol' text posts. Enjoy!

Technical Difficulties

Well, in the words of Fountains of Wayne, "One false move, baby, suddenly everything's ruined" 'cause that's what's been happening over here. First, my internet is shut down over here so I'm having to utilize my campus's wireless network, meaning I gotta leave my dorm room anytime I need to use the internet (which is all the time). So, in retaliation, I decided to try out AudioBlogger, which enables me to post audio entries onto my blog using a regular phone. Only problem is my dorm phone doesn't seem to work with the service. Hopefully, my internet will be fixed by tomorrow. Man, Spring Break can't come too soon!

Script in the works and other news...

Hey, everyone! Sorry I haven't updated recently, but there's just not much to report. I am currently in the process of writing a screenplay for my friend Kelly Rawllins, entitled "A Woman's Right." I hope to have it finished by next week. In the meantime, I've revised some of my shirts, as well as reintroduced the "Technicolor" shirt, this time it says "Now in color." on it. Hopefully, that'll keep the Cafepress copyright hounds at bay. Oh! I did receive my "I make movies." shirt today and I promise I'll have a photo of me wearing it later today.

I would also like to thank my friend Tom for posting such nice comments about my website on here. "welcome to the coolest website ever!" Well spoken, Tom. Well spoken. "i love your shirts, darvon" Um...thanks, I love them, too...

Cake-a-rific!

Thank you, Mom, Dad, Andy and Aaron! I promise that this cake will not go uneaten!

"They say it's your birthday! Well, it's my birthday, too, yeah!"

Na na na na na na na, happy birthday to you! Na na na na na na na na, we're gonna have a good time! Get the White Album if you don't know what this song is. Anyway, it's my birthday and being stuck on campus without a car, I don't have much planned in the way of celebration. But, Spring Break is slowly approaching. Maybe I'll do something then. In the meantime, I'll probably head on down to Best Buy and snag a copy of Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut, a super-cool, super-freaky movie that'll have every slightly unbalanced teen in your house thoroughly entertained.

Hey! I just realized that the new trailer for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is now available on Amazon.com! See it! See it now! NOW!

This headline will not end with an exclamation mark! Aw, crap.

Hey, everybody! Well, the weekend is over and today's Valentine's Day (or as my boss at work likes to call it, Singles Awareness Day (SAD)). To celebrate, the Flicker Film Society's gonna be screening Stanley Kubrick's film "Eyes Wide Shut" tonight at 7:30 in the library auditorium. Okay, okay, this little event actually has nothing to do with the fact that it's Valentine's Day. They just happened to fall on the same day. Hey, if Cruise/Kidman porno isn't quite your thing, we'll be showing Fellini's "8 1/2" in two weeks, same Flicker time, same Flicker place.

For those of you off-campus, you may (or may not) have noticed that the "E-Mail Me!" button doesn't really work. The reason is that the e-mail address I've set up for this website (devin@dimattiafilms.com) doesn't send the messages where they're supposed to go and pretty much just sends them back with a nasty "MAIL UNDELIVERABLE" attached to it. I apologize for this mistake and am working 'round-the-clock to try and fix it. Until then, I have modified the "E-Mail Me!" button so it sends messages to another one of my multitude of e-mail addresses.

The shirt I bought off my online store should be coming soon. I'll try and take a picture of me wearing it so I can post it online. If you don't have money to burn, you can now download TWO of my short films FOR FREE!! Just click on the "Download My Short Films" button on the right side of the screen.

Well, I hope you enjoy Valentine's! I don't really pay much attention to it because I'm too concerned about the event coming up two days later...my birthday!!

It's what this site's all about!

Alright, if you're paying attention, you'll notice that it's almost 4 AM that I'm posting this. I want everyone to know that I've created a new page to showcase some of my short films, and yes, you can download and watch them. Here's the link to see them. You're gonna need the newest version of QuickTime to watch, so make sure you've downloaded that beforehand. I've had a history of weird things happening on my Apple website, so e-mail me if you're having problems and I'll see what I can do. Good night, everybody!

It ain't no trailer trash!

So, I'm really excited 'cause the Flicker Film Society is getting its first publicity as we get to screen our new commercial before ACE's (Association of Campus Entertainment) Friday Night Flick, "Team America: World Police," tonight at 7 & 10. I'm gonna try and get a copy of the ad to post on the web so everyone can see it. I make a brief cameo appearance in the big group shot at the end of it.

Oh, also, If you're in the Wilmington area and are interested in making movies, stop by the Randall Library Auditorium (on the UNCW campus) at 6 PM this Sunday to be a part of the Flicker Film Society! We'll be screening "Slugger" (see past entry) as well as deciding what our next project's gonna be. I've submitted a couple screenplays for consideration. I hope to see you there! Peace!

Don't Let the Man Get You Down!

Well, folks, the DiMattiaFilms Online Store had its first casualty today. I wanted to make a series of shirts featuring various film techniques. I made one with "Technicolor" on the front in rainbow colors and Cafepress said I needed to take it down 'cause Technicolor's a registered trademark. Crap. Well, I just made a long sleeve T with "Widescreen" on it, and hopefully, more will be on the way. Here's a picture of the *banned* shirt.

R.I.P. 2005-2005
"We hardly knew ye."

Special Thanks to...

I'd like to thank my good friend Nathan Sloan, whose blog, Wilmingsloan, inspired me to make my own. Nathan's worked with me on a couple short films, the most recent one being "T.P." a collaborative effort between me, Nathan, Eric Martin, Kaylee Swanson, and Lauren Hancock. The film was shot in 24 hours and took home Crowd Favorite and Honorable Mention at last fall's 2004 One Take Festival here in Wilmington.

Hopefully, we'll be teaming up again this spring for One Take, and possibly collaborating on a production for the Flicker Film Society. Here's hoping!

Cheers,
Devin

Holy Shirt!

Well, my parents bought four of my shirts, and I bought a baseball jersey for myself. I also took the liberty of adding a bunch more shirts, including an "I make movies." for the ladies, a logo shirt for under 10 bucks, and a new "symbols" shirt. Enjoy!

Shirt-making powers activate!

Okay, I had a creative burst of energy after I got out of work this afternoon and was able to make three new shirt designs. I have to say, I think the "I Make Movies" baseball jersey is my favorite. And for those who liked the Excitement shirt, I have more "symbols" shirts on the way.

Contain your excitement. The store is now open!

The DiMattiaFilms Online Store is now open for business. We only have one shirt right now (shown above), but I can promise you there will be many more in the days to come.

In other news, I have just finished editing a short film entitled "Slugger," directed by Kaylee Swanson from a script by her and Kelly Rawllins. We hope to have our first screening of it at this week's meeting of UNCW's Flicker Film Society, a student-run organization dedicated to everything film-related here on campus.

Welcome to DiMattiaFilms!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first posting of DiMattiaFilms, the official blog of student filmmaker Devin DiMattia. On this website, I'll be discussing production updates and story information on upcoming movies, as well as selling official merchandise like t-shirts, hoodies, and even soundtracks to some of my films! Keep watching this space for more!
